martin Oakes- Banner Ad for state senate

Your "yes" vote on the quarter-cent local option sales tax will cost you. It'll cost you an extra 25 on a $100 purchase, an extra $2.50 on a $1000 purchase. You're already paying that extra quarter-cent on purchases in Catawba & Mecklenburg counties. True, you won't likely notice it--but it will provide much-needed money for education. So go ahead, vote "yes" for better schools. This is NOT a paid advertisement; it is an endorsement by the Lincoln Herald; your opinion in agreement or to the contrary is welcomed.

This is another of our series of articles about and interviews with the candidates running for Sheriff, County Commissioner, NC House and NC Senate in Lincoln County in the May 8th Primary Election.  Jon Propst, currently a lieutenant with the Sheriff's Office, is one of six candidates seeking the office of Sheriff in the GOP Primary.
